Creative Dance Class is Back and Taking Applicants

The Colbun School is pleased to welcome back parents and young children with class offerings for our youngest and most expressive dancers with the Creative Dance and Boys Movin’ dance offerings on Saturday mornings. Creative Dance, led by Kristen Smiarowski, provides a bridge from Early Childhood movement classes to more formal dance training. Classes include an introduction to basic dance skills, dance vocabulary, and structured improvisation.

Creative Dance classes can serve as an excellent grounding for classical training (often started at about 7 years of age), for the study of modern dance, or for dance students who desire a less formal approach to their studies.

Boys Movin’, led by Octavio Galindo, uses imaginative exercises set to music in order to improve balance, strength, coordination, flexibility, and agility, as well as concentration and creativity. These skills can help a child succeed in all aspects of life, as well as create a foundation for dance technique where control of the body is essential.
